Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged worldwide at an unprecedented pace, contributing to the development of numerous systems that optimize the duration of judicial proceedings and enhance the efficiency of legal procedures. While it undoubtedly represents a remarkable advancement, substantial concerns arise, particularly regarding its use by the Judiciary. Within this context, the present research is justified by the need to critically examine whether the AI systems currently adopted by the Brazilian Judiciary are in compliance with CNJ Resolution No. 615/2025. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the main provisions set forth in the Resolution and to address the following research question: based on a preliminary reading of CNJ Resolution No. 615/2025, can it be affirmed that the GAIA AI system meets the requirements established therein? The general objective is to assess whether the GAIA Connection system, implemented by the Court of Justice of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (TJ/RS), fulfills the conditions set forth in CNJ Resolution No. 615/2025. The research adopts the hypothetical-deductive method as its methodological approach, starting from the hypothesis that the GAIA system complies with the requirements established by the Resolution and examining whether such regulation is sufficient to govern the use of AI within the Judiciary. The study concludes that artificial intelligence represents significant progress in promoting the celerity and efficiency of judicial services. However, its indiscriminate and uncritical use may result in serious violations of fundamental rights by reproducing or even exacerbating historical inequalities
