Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of the "SOFIA" system on the procedural dynamics of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais, emphasizing its contribution to accessibility to the Judiciary. The study starts from the difficulties faced by the Brazilian population in accessing justice, often due to the costliness and complexity of the judicial system. The central problem is whether the technology of the "SOFIA" system can effectively solve these challenges of access to jurisdiction. The objectives include investigating the application of Artificial Intelligence, identifying the impact of the system and analyzing the overload of the Judiciary, which faces almost 84 million ongoing cases, with an increase in new disputes. Thus, the research highlights the principle of inalienability of the Judiciary, enshrined in article 5, XXXV of the Constitution, which guarantees everyone the right to access justice. However, the practice reveals significant exclusion, hindering the exercise of this right. The costliness of the Judiciary, among other problems, undermines the effectiveness of judicial protection, leading litigants to opt for the administrative route. The research therefore seeks to understand how the "SOFIA" system can contribute to effective access to the legal order, minimizing obstacles and promoting a fair process, aligned with due process.
